New Hire Announcement!

Dear Supporters,

After a thorough, nationwide search, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kurt Jaros as Executive Director of Faith Ascent Ministries.

Kurt’s professional experience demonstrates a visionary thinker and proven leader with many years in executive non-profit leadership. He comes to us from Defenders Media, an organization he founded just over four years ago. He has served as the host of Veracity Hill, a weekly media service sharing provocative discussions in apologetics, theology, political theory, and other social issues. In January, Kurt completed his doctoral research in theology from the University of Aberdeen, and he holds masters degrees in Christian Apologetics (Biola University) and Systematic Theology (King’s College London). Kurt and his family will be relocating to St. Louis from the Chicago area and will be fully situated before this summer.

The Board is grateful for Jeremy Smith and the role he has played in managing and expanding our summer camps, leading church seminars and small groups, and developing strategies to measure the impact of our mission and ministry. Jeremy remains on staff in a local leadership role and is continuing his efforts in program coordinating, developing and managing strategic partnerships, and other ministry related work. Jeremy announced the organization’s intentions to restructure leadership at the beginning of our search, and in reaction to Kurt’s appointment, Jeremy states “with a ministry and business minded non-profit professional like Kurt on board, I’ll be focusing more on those roles and activities that fit neatly inside the lines of my God given passions and gifts. I am confident that our new Executive Director will help pave the way for the growth and expansion we’ve all been praying for and working towards.”

We look forward to Faith Ascent’s continued growth and impact for young Christians, and we remain focused on our apologetic mission of equipping these believers and their families with the tools and information they need. Our ministry’s purpose has only increased in value in the current season of change, uncertainty, and questioning in the world. In all things we seek the blessings of the God we serve, and we are confident that Kurt Jaros will lead our organization into more places and bring greater exposure to our work.
